This is the account of...

ADAM: "This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created" (Genesis 2:4).
NOAH: "This is the written account of Adam's line" (Genesis 5:1a). And "This is the account of Noah" (Genesis 6:9a).
SHEM, HAM & JAPHETH: "The is the account of Shem, Ham and Japheth, Noah's sons, who themselves had sons after the flood" (Genesis 10:1).
SHEM: "This is the account of Shem" (Genesis 11:10a).
TERAH: "This is the account of Terah" (Genesis 11:27).
ISHMAEL: "This is the account of Abraham's son Ishmael, whom Sarah's maidservant, Hagar the Egyptian, bore to Abraham" (Genesis 25:12).
ISAAC: "This is the account of Abraham's son Isaac" (Genesis 25:19a).
ESAU: "This is the account of Esau (that is, Edom)" (Genesis 36:1).
JACOB: "This is the account of Jacob" (Genesis 37:2a).

What does this comment have to do with the price of tea in China? Besides, nobody is talking about the koran anyway.

What do you think, please, of Obadiah Shoher's interpretation of the story? (here: samsonblinded.org/blog/genesis-37.htm ) He takes the text literally to prove that the brothers played a practical joke on Yosef rather than intended to murder him or sell him into slavery. His argument seems fairly strong to me, but I'd like to hear other opinions.
